This study aims to limit the books of Islamic history to one of the most important ancient bibliographies, which is the index of Ibn al-Nadim, through the definition of the bibliography and its importance and goals, then dealt with the rooting of the bibliography of the Muslim Arabs, then addressed the books of Islamic history in the index, through the definition of Ibn al-Nadim and his life, Then he examined the purpose of the bibliography, and the approach followed, then the location of Islamic history books in the index.
