Abstract EN

This study examines the use of the poet Ibn Hamdis metaphor in his poetry as a tool to diagnose things that have no life by describing what is described by people, or attribution of the actions, movements or feelings of people.

Or as a tool for embodiment of objects that are not perceived by the senses by portraying them as metaphorical objects (that is, having an organism or some of its parts).

Or as a tool for the embodiment of the imperceptible by treating it as the treatment of physical sensory things.

This use was consistent with the poet's motives and emotions without immersing in ambiguity and complexity.

The connection between the two parts of the metaphor was based on the stock in the recipient's mind of culture and awareness of inherited metaphors
