Abstract EN

The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of special education diploma program offered by the College of Education at Qatar University in achieving the professional competencies among teachers of additional educational support who graduated from the program.

The final sample of the study consisted of (24) teachers, coordinator of additional educational support, and counselors in (16) independent schools from different educational stages in Qatar who graduated from the program from academic years 2010 to 2016.

The study followed the descriptive method.

The sample responded to professional competencies questionnaire.

Several statistical methods used to analyze the data such as non-parametric tests for comparison between the groups.

The results of the study reached a high assessment of the sample of the diploma program and its contribution to achieving the professional competencies.

The results also showed statistically significant differences in the questionnaire of professional competencies in direction of males compared with females, for secondary school teachers compared to primary school, for coordinators and support teachers compared to counselors, for those who graduated with (A) grade compared to (B) grade, and for highest experience compared to lowest experience.
