Abstract EN

This research deals with the subject of happiness with a sociological view by studying the sources and Indicators of happiness through Western studies and research and the report on happiness in the Middle East.

The aim of the research is to: Identify the sources of happiness in Western societies and the societies of the Middle East; Arab societies.

The research was based on a review of the sources and indicators of happiness in the studies of Western societies and Middle Eastern societies, especially focusing on the Arab countries.

The research findings are summarized as follows: Happiness is one of the topics that needs more studies in sociology especially in Arab societies.

The economic aspect is a source of happiness in Western societies.

Social sources and indicators are the main element of happiness in the Middle East and Arab countries.

For men and women in Western societies, happiness tends to favor men, while in Arab and Middle Eastern societies the level of happiness is a measure of societal progress.
