Abstract EN

This two-pronged study using two independet samples investigated the factorial validiy of tlie Gijjson & Dehmbo Teacher EfficacySeale in the Jordanian teacher population and the influence of sex, qualification, experiifce and the teaching cycle on teacher efficacy.

Inthe first phase of the suidv (n= M5)< the priiK-ipal components analysis yielded twovarimax rotated factors accounting for 26.4% of the total variance which were labeled as persona! teaching efficacy factor and teaching efficacy factor.

In the second phase of the study (n~ *316), the 4- way ANOVA conducted separately oti the two demensions of I he teacher efficacy revealed that on the first dimension (factor) only differences due to sex of the teachers were statistically significant fP< -05), whereas the main effects of any of the other independent variables individually of in interaction with other variables were not found to be statistically significant.

On the other hand, only sex as well as the 3- way interaction of sex, qualification and expereince were found to have significant effects on the second dimension.
