Abstract EN

The study dealt with the origins of the intervention of the state in economic activity through the comparison between traditional economic system and Islamic economic one, taking into account that the Islamic perspective is different from the various traditional systems in regard to the principle of guidance and intervention in the economic activity of the state in spite of the fact that both systems recognize the importance of the governmental intervention in the economic lifestyle and availability of material prosperity to peoples without causing harm to individuals' economic Freedom and provision of complete conditions of competition.

This study is based on the hypothesis which states that economic systems, whether they are Islamic or traditional approve the intervention of the state in economic activity.

However, the intervention of the state in the Islamic economic activity is subject to restrictcting conditions, the greatest purpose of which is the achievement of social justice and balance between the individual's interest and that of the group.

The study concluded that the intervention of the state in the economic activity in both traditional system and Islamic one aims at supporting economic and political independence through the perfect exploitation of economic resources and rationalizing them in a way that guarantees reaching the balanced economic prosperity of society.

However, the intervention of the state in the economic activity in Islam is characterized by its distinguished stand of combining the interests of both the individual and the group, in a way that when the is contrast, the general interest given priority.
