A sociopolitical analysis of john Arden's Serjeant Musgrave's dance : futility of being a wacky mutineer

Futility of being a wacky mutineer is one of the significantmatters used in Arden's Serjeant Musgrave's Dance.

This mainlyimplied matter exploited by Arden to intentionally criticize the warmakers and at the same time to expose the mutineer's attempt inmaking change via infuriating the townsfolk to revolt against theinequitable authority.

This study aims at visualizing the realconfrontation and struggle between Musgrave and the representativesof the dominating regime.

It is divided into two sections and aconclusion.

Section one deals with John Arden, the playwright, who isconstantly a political radical, cautious of authority and exceedingsocial institutions.

In section two, the sociopolitical analysis ofSerjeant Musgrave's Dance is dedicated to explain how Arden is oftenviewed as one of so prominent playwrights who has created atheatrical rebellion in English drama.
