Abstract EN

The objective of the current research is to identify the level of self-centeredness and perfectionism among middle school students and their relationship، as well as the statistical significance differences in the level of concentration towards self and perfection in the research sample according to the variables of gender (males، females)، the fourth، fifth، And so on.

The researcher therefore constructed a self-centered self-centered measure according to the Elkind1967 theory of self-centeredness in adolescents.

The researcher also adopted a measure of perfection (Hewitt et al.

2003) The psychometric properties of the two measurements were applied to the analysis sample (408) students from the middle and secondary schools for distinguished and ordinary schools in Baghdad governorate / the departments of education of Karkh 3 and Rusafa.2 The two measures were applied to the final application sample of (312) male and female students from the same schools.

The results of the statistical analysis and the final application were chosen by the randomized stratified method of equal distribution.

After the analysis of the results، it was found that the research sample has a high level of self-centered and quantitative concentration، There is a strong relationship between these two variables، The results showed that there are no significant differences in self- According to the gender variables and the school stage and the existence of statistically significant differences between students in the schools of excellence and students in the regular schools and for the benefit of students in regular schools، and with regard to differences in the level of perfection، there were significant differences depending on the gender variable and for the benefit of males، There was no statistically significant differences according to the variables of grade and type of school، and in the light of the results and the researcher developed a number of recommendations and suggestions.
