Abstract EN

This study seeks to examine the image of Prophet Muhammad – May Allah peace upon himthrough Syraic chronicles that were written by Christian Syraic historians in Mesopotamia and Syria.

This type of sources was given attention by several studies who paid most of their attention on the picture of Islam in those Syraic sources in general, but not on the Prophet Muhammad himself through them, which is the main question of present study.

The current study, therefore, will highlight what was written about the Prophet Muhammad in Syraic sources during the period from 7th CE/ 1st AH to 12th CE/ 5th AH.

More clearly, the research will examine the development of Prophet Muhammad's image through these sources during five centuries, with special attention on those primary sources used by Syraic historians to draw the Prophet Muhammad's image in whether, or not, he was just leader of his people, a messenger of new faith and false prophet.
