Arabic has been a major factor in spreading Islamic culture and religion across the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula since the Middle Ages.

It is even more so that it contributes to the dissemination of Arab culture in sub-Saharan Africa in particular and the continent in general because of its touch within the different tribes in terms of values, customs and traditions.
