In the early days of his studies of Pre-Islamic poetry, Orientalism is sometimes viewed as a deficient view of questioning the authenticity of this poetry and at other times it is viewed in part as a certain subject of historical, grammatical, linguistic and other information.

With the new generation of German orientalists during the 20th century, such as Yakubi, Schutchter, Richter and others, studies were directed to view the poem as an integrated art, studying its artistic construction and aesthetics.

At the beginning of the jahiliya poem, al-Naseeb (kind of poetry about the woman) is one of the main components of its structure, so it has been the subject of orientalist studies that have been looking at its originality, and its placement in the construction of the poem in terms of being an independent element, or a preparation for the elements that follow such as journey and purpose, and the consequent social or existential interpretation or art.
