Abstract EN

The purpose of the study was to identify the types of technology which are used by hearing Impaired Persons in different areas of the life.

Also identifying the barriers that face using technology , and identifying the strategies which help in increasing the use of these technologies.The sample of the study consisted of (110) hearing Impaired persons at the Prince Ali Club for the Deaf.

The results of the study revealed the following: 1- The most type of technology used by hearing Impaired persons were alarm clocks, hearing Aids, and door bell light, while the least most used type of technology were text phone.

2- The barriers that face the use of technology were the high cost of technology, the difficulties of access to these technologies, and the lack of fund.

3- The suggested strategies which helped in increasing the use of these technologies were supporting in fund, increasing the awareness of hearing impaired persons and their families, and training them to use these types of technology.

4- The results indicated that no significant statistical differences of level of impairment, level of education, and working on the barriers that face using technology.

5- Also, there is significant statistical differences only of level of impairment on the suggested strategies which helped in increasing the use of these technologies.
