إن العلاقة بين الكنيستين المصرية و الحبشية، تمتد إلى زمن بعيد إذا كان بطريرك الإسكندرية هو الذي يولى مطران الحبشة.
و فى هذا المجال تبودلت الرسائل بين حكام مصر الإسلامية و حكام الحبشة، تناولت القضايا الدينية و السياسية و مسلمي الطراز و مياه النيل.
و قد حاول حكام الحبشة استخدام الضغط على حكام مصر من خلال هذه القضايا و لا سيما قضية مياه النيل.
و رغم التهديدات و الهدايا من جانب الأحباش إلا أن حكام مصر الإسلامية لم يرضخوا لذلك.
Abstract EN
The Relations between the two Egyptian and Abyssinian church extends to the long times, the head of Alexandria church had the right to nominate the patron of the Abyssinian church.
There are many letters were exchanged between the rulers of Egypt and the Abyssinian rulers, including many issues, such as political and the Islamic conditions of the states of Teraz in East Africa.
the Abyssinian rulers tried to stop supplying the waters of the Nile River but they failed.
