Abstract EN

In this study a survey was conducted to identify weed species naturally occurring in agricultural fields in Wadi Hadramout.

A check list including 112 species was reported.

One species, Ammi majus L., is being reported for the first time.

The check list includes the scientific name for each species in addition to the English, Arabic and local names.

Reported species belong to 86 genera and 29 families of angiosperms.

The main objective of the study is to attract attention to the economically important weeds in Wadi Hadramout and develop methods for their control.

The study also indicated that the more serious weeds in the local environment and difficult to control are the perennial weeds such as Cynodone dactylone (L.) Pers.
