The Arabic prosody is the study of poetic meters which identifies the meter of a poem and determines whether the meter is sound or broken in lines of the poem.

As for the rhythm; it is the arrangement of the parts of poetic verse in order to meet each other in every section and verse.

The quantities of these parts cranes in a limited and constant rates .El Khalil Ben Ahmed El Farahidi was a scholar of the origins of Arabic poetry and rhythm , music and sound .

Today we have the right to ask about the relationship between the science of prosody and the rhythms, and how the term moved from the music system to the prosody system? Was Khalil Bin Ahmed familiar with the two sciences together for what he put in the balance of poetry and the assets of prosody and its constants? What is the relation between rhythm ,meters and language? Can we equate the units and parts that form the musical system with the units of the prosody system?.
