Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to identify the reality of the modernization of payment systems of the payment systems in Algeria.

In order to achieve this, the procedures carried out by the authorities based on modernizing the components of the system were analyzed.

A questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of customers of the Algerian Popular Loan Banks, Algerian Foreign Bank, and the General Society in Constantine.

The study concluded that the efforts were not up to the required level, because of the weakness of the legislative structure and the lack of necessary means, in addition to the absence of electronic banking culture among the clients.

Le but de cette étude est d'identifier la réalité de modernisation des systèmes de paiement en Algérie, en analysant les procédures mises en œuvre, et en distribuant un questionnaire à un échantillon aléatoire de clients du Crédit Populaire Algérien, Banque Extérieure D’Algérie, et Société Générale de la wilaya de Constantine.

L’étude a conclu que les efforts déployés n’avaient pas atteint le niveau requis en raison de la faiblesse de la structure législative et du manque de moyens, ainsi que de l’absence de culture bancaire électronique chez les clients.
