Abstract EN

The study aims to clarify the relationship between the quality of institutions, investment and economic growth, ie research into how the quality of institutions affect the growth of per capita GDP, by attracting investment.

The study relied on the methodology of economic measurement in estimating the Solow model supported by the measures of institutional quality during the period 1996-2015, through a set of variables, namely, the primary level of output, the primary level of education in secondary, the rate of population growth and investment, the quality of institutions and commercial openness.

The measurement results showed that there is a statistically significant positive effect on the quality of institutions on investment (direct impact) and economic growth (indirect effect).

One of the most important conclusions was that developed countries achieve high levels of growth performance due to the existence of a strong institutional structure that works transparently and is keen to apply the standards of good governance, which formed a distinctive atmosphere attractive for investments, whether domestic or foreign, such as trade openness, which contributed to attracting heads Funds to it.

Therefore, the study recommended that middle-income countries with a weak institutional structure follow the path of their counterparts and apply good governance standards to reach their income levels.
