Abstract EN

This research deals with the critical aspects of the novel “Reading Lolita in Tehran” by the writer, the English literature professor and the Anglo-Persian critics Azar Nafisi.

Her work, in addition of being an interesting and engaging autobiography of what she experienced in her country in particular in the days of the revolution, its text involves numerous speeches; the important one is the critique of realistic English novels.

In a debate with her students especially the hardliner, Nafisi uncovers the various reading of texts and the way she receives those particular narrative works from the ideological and moralistic angle or point of view.
