Being necessary in Algerian universities, French is almost taught in all scientific disciplines; however, French for University Purposes prompts us to question the approach of this training and its importance.
In this article, we present a survey that we conducted in the University of «Moulay Tahar» in Saida, in order to establish an inventory of the teaching of the FUP in the scientific departments.
The survey has revealed that French for University Purposes (FUP) is not always well grasped by teachers and is often assimilated as French for General Purposes(FGP)

Devenu nécessaire dans les universités algériennes, où les disciplines scientifiques sont enseignées en français, le Français sur Objectif Universitaire nous pousse à nous interroger sur la démarche de cette formation et sur son importance.
Dans cet article, nous présentons une enquête que nous avons menée au sein de l'université « Moulay Tahar » de Saida, afin d'établir un état des lieux de l'enseignement du FOU dans les départements scientifiques
