Abstract EN

The word as a phonetic material and as a signifier is stable in its form and entity but it is also marked by change, diversity and viciousness in its function and performance according to the style in which it occurs, its locations and its syntactic function.

Tracing the word (ghair) within the Qur'anic text, we can find out the influence of the functional diversity and viciousness in the text and style.

The semantic content of the word (ghair) varies according to the context and style.

In this study, the word ghair was ivestigated within the thematic limits of the interrogation, haal and negation.

In interrogation, it indicates a question that implies threat and censure.

The haal indicates the concrete form, but the word (ghir) in the Holy Quran does not only indicate a concrete form but it also adds another meaning related to the intention.

In negation, the word ghaire in the Holy Quran indicates the negation or absence of a situation or a state; it does not temporarily negate the situation.

It also used to emphasize the meaning.

The researcher employed the indicative descriptive approach in his study.
