Abstract EN

Two experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of external and internal antiparasitic drugs on feed intake, body weight gain and semen quality of Friesian bulls.

In the first experiment (external parasite drugs), 18 Friesian bulls with an initial live body weight of 358.40±9.68 kg aged 14 months were randomly divided into 3 similar groups.

Bulls in G1 were untreated, while those in G2 and G3 were treated with 1 ml / liter Nu-Tox 5% and Diazinone 15%, respectively.

In the second experiment (internal parasite drugs), 30 Friesian bulls with an initial live body weight of 368.96±7.28 kg and aged 14 months were randomly divided into 5 similar groups.

Bulls in G1 were untreated, while those in G2, G3, G4 and G5 were treated with Ivomec super (1 ml / 50 kg LBW), Imazol (1 ml / 100 kg LBW), Levemisol (0.5 ml / 10 kg LBW) and Dectomax (1 ml / 50 kg LBW), respectively.

The obtained results in the first experiment showed that external parasite drugs did not affected on feed intake.

While, Diazinone treatment (G3) showed significantly (P<0.05) the higher body weight, average daily body weight gain, semen ejaculate volume, the percentage of sperm motility, live spermatozoa and total sperm output, however the percentage of sperm abnormalities was significantly (P<0.05) lower compared with untreated group (G1) or Nu-Tox treatment (G2).

Sperm cell concentration not significantly affected by external parasite drugs.

Moreover, semen ejaculate volume was lower, however, live spermatozoa and sperms cell
