the contemplator of nature of the historical writing in the ottoman era notes the emergence of a new type of authorship in the writings of travelers, these writings were of great Importance to the general data that were ignored by the other source.

this type of writing which took the from of personal memoirs differed from the rest of the writings in terms of characteristics and methodology despite its predominantly literary character, it has great scientific value from this point of view this study of focuses on the contribute of algerian traveler's books in enriching the historical writing examples of the most important algerian journeys of this era and its historical value.
