The Role of the Social Networks in Providing the Public with Information at Times of Crises
The study issue is identifying the role of the social networks in providing users with information at times of crises.

applied on 400 users of the social networks.

The Main Results of the Study:
The study confirmed the importance of social media networks as sources of information and news, especially at the time of crises, and conflicts.

The study also confirmed the public dependence on social media networks as the primary source for information and news.

The field study showed that Facebook is at the top of the social media networks' list, for100% , followed by WhatsApp, Twitter, and then YouTube.

With regard to the motives and reasons of the respondents' dependence on Facebook as a source for information at the time of crises, the main reasons are as follows:
- Speed and immediacy in the transfer of news and updates, communication with family and friends and making new friends, and that Facebook provides scope for expressing opinion towards the current crisis and events and complete freedom of discussion.
