it is represented by a wideopen area surrounded by a mud wall, containing a chapel and an altar with thousands of funerary pottery jars full of children's bones and burned animals and funerary and vowel monuments that held vowel signs.

this sacred space has known many archaeological expeditions specialized in material evidence found in the tophet, especially the jars and the children's bone remains.

this milestone has left a wide debate among researchers and historians about its historical reality and the purpose behind its foundation; some see it as just an ordinary children cemetery and some see it as a sacred temple dedicated to practice children sacrificing ritual.
