Abstract EN

The Arabic medical legacy is an important resource of terminology as it contains an enormous number of scientific terms created by physicians and translators that contributed in the development of medical science in the middle ages.

As the Arabic scientific legacy is a huge cognitive and linguistic treasure, it requires scientific and terminological studies to detect inherited terms which can reflect modern concepts.

Hence, in the present research, we focus on the importance of inherited terms and the way to use them to enrich the medical dictionary then we suggest a methodology to invest the old terms in the modern medical terminology.
