problem is crystallized in the following questions: What is the nature of relationship between irrational thoughts and self- confidence in a sample of children with dyslexia? Are there any differences between males and females with dyslexia regarding irrational thoughts? Are there any differences between males and females with dyslexia regarding self- confidence? Objectives: Exploring the nature of relationship between irrational thoughts and self- confidence in children with dyslexia.
Examining the differences between dyslexia males and females regarding irrational thoughts.
Comparing males to females with dyslexia regarding their self- confidence.
Method: The present study follows the qualitative- correlative- comparative method, that examines the relationship between irrational thoughts and self- confidence, comparing males to females with dyslexia.
Instruments: Scale of Irrational Thinking For Children (by researcher).
Scale of Self- Confidence in Children with Dyslexia (by the researcher).
Scale of the Socio- Economic Cultural Level (by Mohamed Safaan& Doaa Khatab, 2000).
Scale of Asuit University for Non- Verbal Intelligence (by Taha El- Mestekawy, 2000).
Scale of Diagnosis of Dyslexia (by Nassra Gelgl, 2014).
The Human Field: The study sample is consistent of 100 male/ females dyslexia children, divided into (50 males& 50 females), selected purposely, aged (10-12) years old with average age 10.470 and standard deviation 0.358.
Results:The results indicate a statistically significant negative correlation between the study sample’s average scores of children with dyslexia on scale of irrational thoughts and scale of self- confidence.
There are statistically significant differences between average scores of Male/ Female children with dyslexia on scale of irrational thoughts for children, in favor of females.
There are also statistically significant differences between the average scores of the study sample of male and female children with dyslexia on the scale of self- confidence, in favor of males.
