Abstract EN

Nanocrystalline TiO2 films were fabricated on titanium substrates by compression method.

The CdS quantum dots (QDs) were assembled onto the compressed TiO2 layers, which serve as sensitizers.

A maximum power conversion efficiency of 4.49% is achieved under 100 mW/cm2 illumination.

In this paper, we find that the compression can help increase the efficiency of the cell by increasing the absorption of the CdS QDs and improving the transportation of photogenerated electrons.
