Abstract EN

This study is based on a comparison between the old and the modern in a matter of literature, which is romance as a modern term.

The study followed the method of comparing the texts.

In the lament of his brother Malik, he took the form of Mutamim bin Nuwaira al-Yarbu`i as a model in which some features of modern romance were shown.

And the emotional emotion that the poet suffers from in the systems of his poem, and the effect of that emotion on the symbols that the poet transmits to express his psychological state.

The importance of the study lies in the fact that it demonstrates that romance is a human trait of humanity equal to that of the ancient and modern, and it also shows that the traits of romantic poetry identified by modern doctrines exist in ancient poetry and prove this by comparing some modern texts that were characterized by romance with the eyes of Muttamim bin Nuwaira.

The most important results that emerged in this study are that romance in its emotional psychological sense is an ancient human trait, and that traits of the romantic school that modern critics have struck; its features are present in ancient literature.

The study also demonstrated that the rebellion against tradition was known in ancient literature, and that the kind of Mutamim bin Nuwaira in the lament of his brother Malik was one of the examples of this rebellion, as well as demonstrated that emotion with the appearances of nature is also old in literature.
