This paper deals with Shaw’s as a 'drama of ideas' and so there is a discussion of number of social problems and an exposure of number of ideas and ideals throughout the play.

The institution of marriage and family, the exploitation of works on the paper, of 'model employers' have been dealt with the result is a better understanding of these social problems: the discussion is thought- provoking, and Shaw‟s' trenchant and scintillating dialogues arouse interest and serve to drive the point home.

It is also a real drama of passion and action as that characters have to face in the concrete problems which are the objects of discussion.

It is still entertaining and amusing; and although the new woman long time ceased to be new, Candida as social problem resisted many changes of fashion in ideas and attitudes.
