A successful identity is regarded as the knowledge of the individual of himself as an active, qualified, respectful and has the ability to control his life, influence his surroundings, and satisfy his needs for the love of others.

The personality of an individual develops through his attempts to satisfy his basic psychological needs.

Individuals who work to satisfy these needs usually intend to consider themselves as having a successful identity.

The current research aimed ating identify successful students the successful identity of university students and building a counseling program (proposed) to develop the successful identity, where the basic research sampleconsistes of (200) male and female students from the College of Education / Al-Mustansiriya University students, in the academic year 2019/2020.

The first research tool was the preparation of a successful identity scale which consisting of (24) items and contains three components, for each component, there are (8) items.

The psychometric properties of the scale are ascertained.

The second tool is building the counseling program (proposed) according to the theory of real therapy (Glasser).

The researcher has used the appropriate statistical means for the first goal and the face validity of the counseling program is ascertained, and the results show that the university students have a successful identity with less than the calculated mean.

In the end, the researcher has put forward a set of recommendations and suggestions.
