الملخص EN

The objective of the current research is to know the KWL self-improvement strategy in self-improvement, and the level of ambition of intermediate second-grade students in the subject of history.

The research community and its sample is determined by the intermediate second grade students in Qarqoush in al-Hamdaniyah district, Nineveh for the academic year 2016 - 2017, the number of (208) And distributed to (4) middle schools.

The sample of the study was (65) were deliberately selected from both of the intermediate schools (Rafidain for girls) and (Hamdaniyah for girls), which each includes one division for the second grade intermediate, The intermediate of Al-Rafidain was randomly selected to be a experimental group with 32 students, and Al-Hamdaniya medium to be the control group and 33 female students.

The search requests the existence of two tools, the first measuring the selfimprovement tool and the second tool scale the level of ambition.

The researcher has prepared the measure of self-improvement by reading the literature survey, while the scale of the level of ambition, the researcher relied on the tool prepared in (eg, Jubouri, 2002).

The two tools were presented to a group of experts to measure virtual honesty.

Stability was calculated by way of retesting the two measures, and the stability coefficient in the self improvement scale was 0.82.

As for the level of ambition, the stability coefficient (0.86) is a high stability coefficient.

The researcher prepared a number of study plans to teach topics for the first and second chapters of the book of Arab and Islamic history of the experimental and control groups.

She trained the teacher of subject Using strategy.

The trial took 10 weeks.

Based on the statistical methods, including the second test for two independent samples and correlation coefficient Pearson and Alfa Kronbakh and Kai square, the results of the research showed that: 1.

There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the Average of the control group that studied the KWL strategy and the Average of the control group that was studied in the normal way for the experimental group of the post-test of the self-improvement scale.

There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the average score of the experimental group studied by the KWL strategy and the average score of the control group that was studied in the normal way in the post-test of the level of ambition and for the experimental group.

In light of the results of the research, the researcher came out with a number of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
