The current research aims to identify the effect of the Wheatley model in developing numerical sense skills among fifth-grade primary students in mathematics.

The researcher followed the experimental approach with two groups (experimental and control) due to its suitability to the nature of the research, where the experiment was applied in the same school of the researcher.

Experimental and control) in a number of variables for the safety of the experiment and controlling the variables and accompanying conditions, the total sample consisted of (34) pupils of the fifth grade of elementary school with (17) control and (17) experimental students.

And teaching plans according to the normal way to study According to the control group, the Sensory Thinking Scale consisting of (35) paragraphs was prepared in its final form.

After implementing the plans and conducting the test, the researcher concluded the following: - 1- The effectiveness of the following model in developing numerical sense skills among fifth elementary pupils.

2- This model gave students the motivation to learn.

The research also came out with several recommendations, including: 1 - The introduction of modern strategies and models in teaching because of their importance in the education of pupils.

2- Benefiting from the numerical sense test and the possibility of applying it to other stages.
