الملخص EN

The current research aims to identify( mental vigilance and its relationship to the achievement of history among students of the fourth literary grade )and to verify the objectives of the research, the following questions must be answered  Knowing the level of mental alertness of the literary fourth grade students.

 Knowing the correlation between mindfulness and the achievement of history for fourth-grade literary female students.

 The extent of the contribution of mindfulness to the achievement of the subject of history among the students of the fourth literary grade.

The current research community consists of fourth-grade literary students who study in government secondary and preparatory schools of the day affiliated to the directorates of Babylon Governorate - Al-Hilla, the city center for the academic year 2020-2021, and their number is (648) students in the fourth literary grade distributed over 13 schools.

The researcher applied the experiment to a sample of (340) female students of the fourth literary class, who were chosen by the researcher in a stratified random manner among the students of the fourth literary class.

The researcher (Salam Muhammad Ali Hadi) as a tool for the current research, and the scale consists of 21 paragraphs.

The researcher applied it after verifying its statistical characteristics and verified its stability by the Alpha Cronbach method, as it reached (0.81), which is a good stability coefficient.

Then the researcher applied the scale to the basic research sample, and after collecting and analyzing data, the researcher used the statistical bag (spss), and the researcher used the descriptive associative research method for its suitability to the current research procedures, and after applying the tool and processing it statistically ،the results showed the following: 1.

The level of mental alertness of the students of the fourth literary grade in the same research is above average.

The correlative relationship between the variables of mindfulness and academic achievement of the fourth literary grade female students is a strong and statistically significant relationship.

The researcher recommended a number of recommendations, including the following: 1.

The researcher’s recommendation is to conduct more studies that dealt with psychological and educational variables and to identify their relationship to academic achievement.

The school and teachers pay attention to the variable of mental alertness and focus on its practice by female students during learning.

The necessity of holding seminars and holding courses for teachers on the use of mindfulness during teaching and how to practice it.

The researcher suggested several suggestions, including the following:1.

Conducting a similar study to identify the relationship between mindfulness and other educational variables to retain and prepare for motivation.

2.

Conducting a similar study to identify the relationship between the mental alertness variable and the academic achievement of female students at another stage of study.
