Physicochemical evaluation of mangofruits from trees raised from seeds

Fifteen mangos trees raised from seeds were developing in the Sudan, at Shendi Research Station.

Study was making to evaluate their physio-chemical characteristics.

Badrr 4, Sanosy 2 and Mudather 2 were finding to be higher in weight, length, width and thickness.

Badrr 4 gave higher pulp weight and lower peel and stone.

The total solube solids (TSS%) for all varieties was between 15-18% except Sanosy 2, Mudather 2, Sanosy 4, Shanan 3w and Mudather 1were resulted lower percentages.

The range of total acidity was 0.32 to 0.47% except Shanan cultivars were reported lower level.

The total sugars were higher in cultivar Badrr 4, but lower in variety Shanan 3w.

All samples were approximately similar in pH and reducing sugars.The fibre content was between 0.50 and 1.42%.

The higher value of vitamin C recorded in cultivar Shanan 2m, while Sanosy 4 recorded the lowest value
