waif is the locking-up of the title of an owned property from disposition and the allotment of its benefits to charity, even though as of a future date.

Infer the Jordanian law waif is regulated by many Acts, but the main Act that regulates and governs waif is the Jordanian Civil Code No.43 of 1976 which is by and large derived from Islamic law (Shari'a).

This article has discussed the general legal rules of waif in the Jordanian law and its applications and role in serving the society.

It has reached the conclusion that waif, as a legal institution, can nowadays play a distinguished role in achieving social and economic development in the Jordanian.
