الملخص الإنجليزي

The current work focuses on design and control of a new power-drive for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV).

The proposed model is a soft mix of parallel and serial configuration of power-drive.

The main unit is the differential block which plays the magic role of mixing parallel and series behavior. Mathematical modeling for the differential block was presented.

The modeling implies derivation of torque-speed relationship for different mixing ratios.

The input shaft of the differential unit is attached to the internal combustion engine, the other two terminals are connected to the generator and output shaft.

The output shaft is attached firmly to rotor of DC motor to increase the propulsion power when necessary.

A complete mode of the developed power-drive is presented in Matlab-Simulink.

Many tests were carried to show the validity of the model.

In this configuration a torque loop was used to regulate the internal combustion engine torque.

The loop starts with torque sensing elements which may be load cells attached to engine supports, signal conditioning units and PID control unit.

The loop keeps engine-torque within predefined limit, to ensure economy, performance and minimum emissions.

The idea behind this procedure is to model the engine performance maps using neural networks and then to optimize by selecting the best performance zone corresponding to torque –speed inputs The developed model plays the role of continuously varying transmition (CVT) which eliminate the need for gear shifting as cleared in the case studies.
