Translating English Body Part Idioms into Arabic Idiomatic equivalences

This paper studies the translation of body part idioms (BPIs) from English into Arabic regardless of their forms.

It focuses on the importance of making use of the native language resources in finding the dynamic (idiomatic) equivalence as the best strategy provided that it is available in the TL Besides, the main concern of this study is also to provide some operational definitions of idioms and trying to come up with a more comprehensive one.

In addition, it briefly identifies the challenges idioms pose during the translation process and proposes a theoretical model for dealing with such problems.
