Total proteins,lipids, carbohydrates and ash content in sargas-sum dentifolium, Paclina pavonica and Cystoseira myrica Ulva lactuca, Caulerpa recemosa and Halmida discodia; Grateloupa sp.

The analysis showed the protein content to be higher in both the green and red algal species than it is in the brown ones.

Total lipid content did not show much variation.

The ash content was notably high in the brown algae.

Carbohydrates showed no trend and their content fluctuated within each group
