Determination of total lead in environmental and biological samples by inductively coupled plasma and atomic absorption spectroscopy

An analytical method for the determination of lead (pb) concentrations in an environmental and biological liquid samples using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) was established.

The mean concentrations of lead in environmental and biological samples were found to be 23.3±1.05 mg/kg, 2.6±0.11 mg/kg, respectively.

Acceptable agreement (at least 95%) was achieved between the results of ICP-AES and AAS.
