الملخص EN

The objective of this study is estimating the impact of accidental radioactive release from the hot cell of the Egyptian material testing reactor (MTR) on the public dose level around the reactor.

The assessment was performed in two cases: an evaluation of the impact of accidental radioactive release on the public dose around the reactor in case of proper operation of hot cell filtration system; and an assessment of the potential dose in case of loss of hot cell filtration system.

The results show that the filtration system has a great role in decreasing the dose received by the receptor located outside the reactor to dose level lower than the annual permissible dose.

In case of proper function of filtration system, the received public dose decreases to 6.41×10-5 Sv which is very lower than the annual permissible dose.
