الملخص EN

This study aims at recognizing the effect of the environmental Approach for teaching Biology to the eight class of basic Education students and their Attitudes towards the environment.

It is an experiment study in Deraa Province School.

The researcher used A- Natural Resources and Environmental Systems Unit.

B- environmental attitudes scale, by applying it on a sample of(146) male and female students representing the experimental group and (145) male and female students representing the control group.

The findings were as Follows: 1.There are statistical differences between the two averages of scores of students in the experimental sample in relation to acquiring information in the pre and post-teaching in favor of the post-application 2.There are statistical differences between the averages of marks of the students in the experimental sample and that of students in the control sample in relation to acquiring information after the application of the program in favor of the experimental sample.

3.There are no statistical differences between the two averages of marks of the male and female students in the experimental sample in relation to their attitudes towards the environment .

4.There are no statistical differences between the average of students who live in the country and the average of students who live in the city in the experimental sample in relation to their attitudes toward the environment .

5.According to Blake’s rate of modified gain, the programme is effective Suggestions: 1.It is necessary that the curricula focus on the behavioural aspects without ignoring the cognitive and skill aspects, and learning should be targeted for the sake of environment.

2.Concentrating on the student’s local environment in the main stage – i.e.

elementary and preparatory schools.

This concentration plays a role as it enriches the learner’s culture on the one hand, and makes him/her aware of the environmental problems on the other, makes him/her feel the effects of these problems upon the learner.

3.Connecting between theory and practice when it comes to environmental studies, and Concentrating on skill and passionate sides, particularly in the field of preserving the environment.

4.Training teachers, assisting teachers, librarians continuously on applying curricula in a way that contributes to achieve the goals of environmental education.
