Abstract EN

The study aimed to reveal the effect of an educational program based on the constructivist theory in developing scientific thinking skills in the subject of social and national education among third-grade students in Jordan To achieve the objectives of the study, a scale for developing scientific thinking skills was designed.

The two researcher adopted the quasi- experimental approach; The experimental group consisting of (23) male and female students was studied according to the educational program based on the constructivist theory, and the control group consisting of (19) male and female students was studied in the usual way.

The test was applied to the two groups before and after conducting the experiment, and the results of the ANCOVA showed ) There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the two groups due to the educational program based on the constructivist theory in developing scientific thinking skills, and in the interest of the experimental group, which indicates the effect of the educational program based on the constructivist theory in developing scientific thinking skill, The study recommended employing the constructivist theory in the teaching of social and national education, and conducting other similar studies in different educational stages and with new variables.
