A total of 120 samples were collected from retail markets from November 2011 to February 2012.

The results of the present study indicated that there was a high level of Salmonella contamination of chicken meat and giblets in retail markets, which could be considered as one of the major potential source of human salmonellosis in Port- Said, city.
