Abstract EN

The study aimed to find out the effect of using the guided discovery strategy on the academic achievement of science for second-grade students in the Ain Al-Basha district in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

To the Ministry of Education and Education in Ain Al-Basha District, whose number is (2,260) male and female students, distributed over 61 schools, This study was applied to a sample of (50) male and female students from the second grade of basic school in the International Enjaz School in Ain Al-Basha District.

The sample was divided into two experimental groups, the first of which was (25) male and female students, the two units of sound and environment were taught using guided discovery, and the second group was a control number, also (25) students.

The two units studied themselves in the usual way, in the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic year.

The two researchers prepared the following tools for the purpose of data collection: Educational program, achievement test.

After applying the experiment, the data were analyzed statistically using arithmetic means, percentages, and the (T) test, the results showed the following: There were statistically significant differences in the achievement test in favor of the experimental group.

The two researchers recommended the necessity of conducting experimental research in the field of employing the strategy of directed discovery and measuring its impact on academic achievement.
