Abstract EN

This research aims to develop biology curricula for the secondary school stage in the Sultanate of Oman using modern global trends.

The research tools consisted of a biology curricula assessment tool and a cognitive information test for cognitive attainment, a test of thinking skills, and a trend scale for biology in the light of recent global trends.

The results indicated that the level of inclusion of modern global trends in secondary biology curricula in Oman is not enough.

Moreover, the existence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the two groups (experimental and control) in the post- attainment test in favor of the experimental group that studied the developed curriculum in light of the recent global trends.

In addition, the existence of statistically significant difference between the average scores of the two groups (Experimental and control) in the post-thinking skills test for the experimental group that studied the developed curriculum in the light of recent global trends.
