Abstract AR
Abstract EN
In this study preparation three types of polymers blends with low density polyethylene LDPE in the melt .
Mechanical properties for all blends which containing 5-20% ratio of polyethylene wax and grafted with maleic anhydride(MAH) and t-Butyl peroxy(2-ethyl hexanoate) (C67) as a catalyst had been studied, the study showed a decrease in the tensile strength at yield point, tensile strength at break, elongation at break, hardness with high resistance to impact strength and increase the melt flow index with increasing polyethylene wax.
polypropylene and polystyrene had been used in place of polyethylene wax with LDPE mechanical properties of these blends had been studied by the addition of MAH and Di-tert-Butyl Peroxide(C2) as a catalyst, and the result of samples with polystyrene (10-50%) showed a decrease tensile strength at yield point, tensile strength at break, impact strength and elongation at break, increasing in the hardness and melt flow index.the result of blends with polypropylene(10-50%) showed increasing tensile strength at yield point, tensile strength at break, decreasing in elongation at break and impact strength, the result also showed increasing in melt flow index with increase in polypropylene ratio.
