Abstract EN

This research aims to develop students' reading comprehension skills by application to the primary student in Iraq.

It utilized a synthetic strategy based on concept maps, clarifying the values and self-questioning.

To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher chose a sample of (60) students of a primary school in Baghdad governorate: (30) students in the experimental group and (30) in the control group.

After the researcher identified the research tools: List of reading comprehension skills and another strategy based on conceptual maps, clarifying values, self-questioning and testing reading comprehension, he presented it to a group of experts and specialists to verify its validity and reliability.

The experiment lasted for 3 months.

At the end of the experiment, a test of understanding the comprehension was applied to the students of both the experimental and control groups.

After extracting the results of the test and using the appropriate statistical methods, the effectiveness of the synthetic strategy was identified in achieving the research objective.

Accordingly, the most important recommendation of the researcher was to implement this strategy, and training the students, teachers and supervisors who use it.
