This article aims to shed the light on one of the components of the process of teaching/ learning of foreign languages which is “the linguistic mistake” which concept remains relatively ambiguous.
This is due to two causes; from one hand, we find the inevitability attributed to it and from the other hand, we find its complex structure especially to someone who tries to manage it.
That’s why we tried in this article to answer some key questions regarding this concept in the process of teaching/ learning of foreign languages.
So, how can we define these linguistic mistakes committed by the learners? What are their causes? What are the situations given to them in the process of teaching foreign languages in Algeria?Is there a relationship between the error and the way we remedy it?

Le présent article vise à mettre la lumière sur une partie intégrante dans le processus d'enseignement/apprentissage des langues étrangères; qui est " la notion d'erreur langagière".
Cette notion qui demeure cependant floue, pour deux raisons principales: l'impression d'évidence qui lui est attachée au premier abord et sa grande complexité pour qui cherche à la cerner plus précisément.
Et de ce fait, le présent article tentera de répondre à des questionnements relatifs aux erreurs langagières.
Comment peut-on les définir? Pour quelles raisons les erreurs sont-elles commises par les apprenants? Quel statut attribue-t-on à l'erreur langagière dans l'enseignement des langues étrangères en Algérie? Y-t- il une relation entre le type d'erreur et la façon d'y remédier?
