Abstract EN

Our study deals with conceptual and theoretical issues that overlap the translation of theatrical terminology from French to Arabic in theater bilingual lexicons.

The main challenges that translators meet in this context, are relative to cultural charges, the richness of the source language, the nature of the target one, and and the objectives of the translator .Thus, can the latter easily produce a perfect equivalence or correspondence for he original term by creating a linguistically analogical form? In case of none or partial equivalence, what are the techniques used by the translator to overcome these obstacles? Our principal aim is to identify linguistic and metalinguistic factors that rule the theatrical terminology translation process, and to determine the main parameters that translators have to take into account.

In addition,exploit the methods of the modern and contemporary terminological approaches, as well as translation theories, to highlight the role of the translator as a temporary terminologist, whose role goes beyond being merely a user of the technical term to include the process of directing and improving its translation in bilingual and multilingual dictionaries, Through reading, criticism and sharing
