In this article, we analyze the role of the teacher in the traditional approaches, which considers the pedagogical practice as an educational act exerted by the pedagogical orator whose tasks are limited in providing knowledge to the pupils and controlling the class.

However, competency-based approach is considered as a pedagogical activator exercising the tasks of motivations, accompaniment planning, organization, guidance, evaluation, so we have demonstrated requirements to accomplish these tasks including the personality traits that correspond to each role.
